connect2engineering was formed in an effort to increase the number of women and minority students considering engineering careers and to address a looming shortage of engineers throughout the industry. Through interaction with area educators, it was determined our focus must target the K-12 student audience along with their parents and teachers. The goal is to provide basic engineering information and ignite excitement about the role engineers play in our world. All engineering fields will be encouraged.
Our initial efforts are focusing on developing a network of engineers and their companies in the Omaha area willing to join us in delivering this message. A key piece of the effort is our connect2engineering website.
We are seeking engineering outreach events to help promote on our website. Our intent is to be a resource to aid in getting your message out to the widest metro audience. connect2engineering is NOT a competitor to your engineering outreach events, but rather seeks to help promote all such initiatives to reach our collective goals. There is no cost to engineering outreach events advertised on the website.
