connect2engineering was formed in an effort to increase the number of women and minority students considering engineering careers and to address a looming shortage of engineers throughout the industry. Through interaction with area educators, it was determined our focus must target the K-12 student audience along with their parents and teachers. The goal is to provide basic engineering information and ignite excitement about the role engineers play in our world. All engineering fields will be encouraged.

Our initial efforts are focused on developing a network of engineers and their companies in the Omaha area willing to join us in delivering this message. A key piece of the effort is our connect2engineering website. We are seeking area companies willing to support this effort by becoming a sponsor.

Your support of the connect2engineering initiative will help inspire future engineers by providing needed funding for engineering-related events (e.g., career fairs, engineering competitions, educational events); student activities (e.g., engineering projects, attendance at national engineering events); educational materials (e.g., engineering videos, printed materials); student scholarships; and website upkeep (grad student stipend).

We are a non-profit organization working toward a 501c3.
